Dear Parents,
My name is Felicia Adamson and I am so delighted to welcome you and your student to first grade this year. I was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana. I stayed in town to attend Indiana University and graduated with an Elementary Education degree and a reading endorsement. After graduating, I decided I wanted a change of scenery and moved out to Oregon.
First grade is such an incredible year of growth, both academically and socially. In order to support those growth opportunities, your student will work in stations (reading, math) and will have many Unit lessons. This will help connect the things they are learning, not only to other subjects but also to real life experiences. This also provides more chances for one-on-one and small group activities so that I can work with your student on a deeper level.
I am very excited to meet you and your student. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns feel free to contact me via e-mail. We can communicate in whatever way is easiest for you. E-mail, phone call, and we can set up a time to meet. Below are a few websites where I will post updates as well and my e-mail address. Hopefully, I will get to meet you all tomorrow at the ice cream social!
